iPad offer to care homes
Applications have closed. We are no longer accepting applications.
Over the next few weeks, we will contact the care homes that have applied for an iPad to let them know the outcome of their application.
We will contact care homes to let them know how many iPads they will receive and when they will be delivered. We’ll also provide how-to information and tell them about the support package on offer to help care home staff to use and manage the iPads.
For care homes that qualify for a data-enabled SIM card, we’ll confirm the number of SIM cards they’ll receive and provide further details, including data usage information. In all cases, the SIM cards will be free for the first 12 months.
Unsuccessful applicationsiPads will be given to the care homes that meet the eligibility criteria and have the greatest need for support. Unfortunately some care homes will not get an iPad.
If your care home is unsuccessful but you would like to discuss this with us, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our ongoing work
Before the start of the pandemic, NHSX had already been working with NHS Digital to improve access to the internet in care homes and had negotiated a range of connectivity offers to help staff in care homes and their residents to stay connected.
Our colleagues in NHS Digital and the health and care sector have also been providing digital and technical advice and guidance to care providers to support care giving.
