Health and care videos available to NHS clinicians free of charge

This platform was licensed as a temporary response to the COVID-19 pandemic and NHSX is now carrying out a review to understand the long term future strategy of patient information in the NHS.
Patients and clinicians can continue to access a wide range of health and care information at www.nhs.uk
Trusted, clinically assured patient videos can help improve the experience of patients and clinicians by:
- supporting patients with the self-management of conditions, reducing the number of appointments needed.
- preparing patients for remote or face-to-face consultations so that more time during the appointment can be spent on treatment and care.
- facilitating rehabilitation and recovery with fewer follow-up appointments.
As part of our response to COVID-19, NHSX has secured a national licence for NHS clinicians to access a video library of over 600 health and care videos free of charge.
The videos have been written by NHS clinicians and developed to work within care pathways. They have been professionally produced by Health and Care Innovations (HCI) for use by patients and have been independently, clinically assured by various NHS trusts.
An online resource hub is also available to NHS clinicians and includes guidance on how to access the videos by clinical specialism or pathway, and how they can be made available to patients as part of the patient journey.
